Terrell Herring is a business executive in the pharmaceutical sector, who often goes by Terry. Currently the president of Mission Pharmacal and Alamo Pharma Services, Terrell Herring also serves on the board of directors for Bridging the Gap Africa.
A nonprofit organization, Bridging the Gap Africa (BtGA) works to build footbridges across rivers in rural Kenya to improve the lives of local community residents. The bridges allow residents to safely access necessary social services, healthcare, education, and economic opportunity. A single bridge allows approximately 200 safe crossings a day, which adds up to 72,800 safe crossings annually. The bridge building process at BtGA begins with a request for assistance from a community in Kenya. BtGA then engages volunteers and members of that local community who are active in every step of the actual build. During this process, technical assistance and financing is also provided by BtGA to ensure the project's success. Once a bridge is completed, a ceremony is held to celebrate the completed project and fully transfer ownership of the bridge to the local community.
